Terms of Use
Please read this part. Loam identifies plants with machine learning and tells you how sure it is. It can be wrong. Never eat, forage, or give to an animal any plant based on an identification from an app.
The service
Loam provides plant identification, care guidance and plant health suggestions for home growers. Identification results show ranked candidates with a confidence band; a "likely" match is still an estimate. Care guidance is general horticultural information and not professional, veterinary or medical advice.
Safety
- Loam refuses to identify mushrooms and other fungi.
- Toxicity notes follow published references but may be incomplete. Contact a poison control centre or veterinarian in an emergency.
- Lookalike warnings are provided for known dangerous pairs; their absence is not a guarantee of safety.
Your account and allowance
Loam has no accounts. The free tier includes a daily number of identifications per device; Loam Pro removes that limit and unlocks additional features. Abuse of the service (automated requests, circumventing limits) may result in requests being refused.
Subscriptions
Loam Pro is offered as a monthly or annual auto-renewing subscription or a one-time lifetime purchase, billed through your Apple ID. Prices are shown in full before you buy. Subscriptions renew unless cancelled at least 24 hours before the end of the period; manage or cancel them in Settings › Apple ID › Subscriptions. There is no free trial.
Content and licences
Identification is powered by one or more third-party identification providers (see the Privacy Policy for exactly which ones are active), and explanations by Anthropic's Claude. Your photos remain yours; you grant Loam only the transient right to process them for your request.
Liability
The service is provided as is. To the extent permitted by law, Loam is not liable for losses arising from reliance on identifications, care guidance or health suggestions.
